1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use English for Tech Leads:

Account Information

When you register, we collect your email address and name through Clerk, our authentication provider. This information is used to create and manage your account.

Learning Progress Data

We store your lesson completion progress in our database (Cloudflare D1). This includes which lessons you have completed and when, to enable you to resume your learning and track your advancement through the course.

Payment Information

Payments are processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. We do not store your credit card numbers, billing addresses, or other payment details on our servers. We only receive a confirmation of your purchase (order ID and product purchased) to grant you access to the corresponding content.

Analytics Data

We collect anonymous usage analytics through Cloudflare Web Analytics (no cookies, no personal data) and product analytics through PostHog (associated with your user ID to help us understand how you interact with the course, e.g., lessons played, completion rates, playback speed preferences).

Error Tracking

We use Sentry for error tracking to detect and fix technical issues. Sentry captures error stack traces and your user ID to help us reproduce bugs. It does not capture passwords, payment details, or other sensitive personal information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your user account and authenticate you on the platform.
  • Grant and verify access to purchased course content.
  • Save and display your learning progress across sessions.
  • Send transactional emails related to your account or purchases (via Clerk and Lemon Squeezy).
  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve course content and platform experience.
  • Detect, investigate, and fix technical errors and security issues.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your information for advertising or share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure, with servers located in the United States and the European Union. Cloudflare maintains high security standards and compliance with international data protection regulations.

Authentication data (email, name) is stored and managed by Clerk. Learning progress and enrollment records are stored in our Cloudflare D1 database. Audio content is served securely via Cloudflare R2 with time-limited signed URLs.

4. Third-Party Services

We work with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

5. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for the platform to function. These are session cookies set by Clerk to keep you authenticated between page loads. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party cookies for marketing purposes.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and does not set any cookies or track you across sites.
